EL PAIS regularly publishes articles by well known contributors in all areas of thought: analysis, foreign affairs, culture, etc. These articles are syndicated by EL PAIS Internacional to newspapers throughout the world. The most important among these writers is Mario Vargas Llosa who, every fortnight, writes in our opinion pages. EL PAIS has the World Rights of these articles that are published under the title of 'Touchstone'.

We have two Opinion Services:

'GRANDES FIRMAS' (Top Columnists) includes writers who periodically publish their thoughts in our Op-ed pages, and who have made special distribution agreements with EL PAIS Internacional.

'FIRMAS ESPECIALES' (Special Columnists) Contributors who write a special monthly column for EL PAIS Internacional  -which are not necessarily published in EL PAIS- but are syndicated through our Syndication Dept.
